The project involved the re-design and refurbishment a of a 3 bedroom apartment in Ealing, London, which was bought in a condition of disrepair. The apartment was re-appropriated for the use of a young couple with 2 bedrooms and a larger living-dining space, where the latter doubles up as a study.
The entrance lobby was envisioned as a warm welcoming space which uses sophisticated materials. On approach, one looks at a feature wall to the opposite end of the lobby which immediately uplifts the entrance experience.
As most apartments and houses built in the 1900s, the apartment consisted of smaller rooms and lacked a larger entertainment space. As part of the reconfigurations, the living and dining spaces have been combined with a large set of double doors in between. The spaces are often in combination and give the apartment a more spacious and fluid feel.
